Transport and communications - this area was named among the current areas of partnership at a round table held in Vienna on March 12 with the participation of the delegation of Turkmenistan and representatives of Austrian business circles.
As an example of effective cooperation with Austrian companies in this area, the successful experience of interaction with Liebherr in the field of supply and service of special equipment, including large-tonnage quay cranes, port equipment and drilling units, was cited.
Today, 42 cranes of this company operate on the territory of the international seaport of Turkmenbashi. There is a Liebherr Service Center in the city of Turkmenbashi, where more than 100 units are registered.
For a number of years, Turkmenistan has fruitfully interacted with Austrian companies to implement projects to expand maritime transport services, cellular communications, and satellite systems. At the same time, according to the parties, the mutual potential of Turkmen-Austrian cooperation in this area can be used much more effectively.
Turkmenistan expressed its readiness for a substantive discussion of the development of railway transport, shipbuilding equipment, effective use of the transport and logistics capabilities of the Turkmenbashi seaport, and the opening of new forms of cooperation in the field of telecommunications.
Austrian companies are also invited to participate in projects to digitalize the economy of Turkmenistan. The attention of Austrian business, in particular, was drawn to a major project aimed at developing electronic services in Turkmenistan - the creation of a national Data Center.
