President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed a decree establishing the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, according to Turkmenistan’s official state media.
The initiative aims to support the implementation of the Presidential Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2028, as well as to train, retrain, and advance highly qualified professionals and promote entrepreneurship.
Under the decree, the Ministry of Education is tasked with assisting in the development and legal approval of the university’s charter and structure, ensuring licensing and accreditation, and preparing curricula that meet international standards.
Additional responsibilities include approving student admission quotas, setting tuition fees, launching student enrollment starting from the 2025–2026 academic year, and organizing the invitation of foreign instructors and experts.
President Berdimuhamedov also approved appointments to the university’s leadership: Hydyrguly Atamuradovich Kadyrov as rector, Handurdy Shadurdyyevich Handurdyyev as vice-rector for academic affairs, and Aymyrat Babamyradovich Muhammedov as vice-rector for research.
