President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov warmly congratulated the residents of Arkadag city on the second anniversary of the opening of the city — the country’s only “smart” city in its history, Turkmenistan’s state news agency reported on Sunday.
The head of state noted that this city, located in a beautiful corner of Kopetdag, has become a clear symbol of the country’s achievements and immense economic potential. He expressed firm confidence that the celebrations marking Arkadag city’s second anniversary will strengthen unity and cohesion, inspire the Turkmen people to reach new heights, and emphasized that Arkadag is one of the most comfortable and advanced cities for living, working, and leisure.
“Administrative and social facilities built based on the ‘smart city’ concept, very comfortable residential buildings, branches of ministries, sectoral management bodies, banks, and many other important buildings have been made available to the residents. The city is equipped with wide streets, modern lighting, and management systems. Modern transportation serves the population and guests at a high level,” the President’s congratulatory message states.
National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also congratulated the residents of Arkadag city on the occasion of the city’s second anniversary.
Founded on June 29, 2023, Arkadag city is recognized as the country’s first “smart” city and has gained international recognition for its innovative solutions in urban planning, ecology, and digital technologies. For its achievements, Arkadag city has received several prestigious international awards.
