Turkmenistan’s Cabinet of Ministers is implementing regulations and licensing for higher education institutions operating under non-state ownership. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported to President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov during a regular online government meeting on Friday.
According to the report, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance and Economy have deemed it appropriate to include “Higher Professional Education” and “Postgraduate Professional Education” in the list of activities subject to licensing, in accordance with the State Classifier of Economic Activities.
After hearing the report, President Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Turkmenistan places great importance on the development and improvement of its education system. He approved the proposal to license private professional education institutions and instructed the deputy chairman to carry out the necessary work.
During the regular Cabinet meeting, President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree establishing the International University of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
