President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held separate meetings Friday with Hiroyuki Subai, Member of the Board, Executive Vice President of ITOCHU Corporation, and Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Economic Cooperation Committee, as well as Kenji Sanada, Executive Director of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., according to Turkmenistan’s state news agency.
Meeting with ITOCHU Corporation’s Hiroyuki Subai:
President Berdimuhamedov noted the implementation of major projects by Japanese corporations in Turkmenistan’s gas and chemical industries. He emphasized that the favorable investment environment in the country provides opportunities to expand mutually beneficial cooperation into new sectors.
The head of state highlighted ITOCHU Corporation’s involvement in several large-scale construction projects and expressed readiness to further strengthen the partnership.
Subai thanked the President for creating favorable conditions for foreign investors and praised the high level of cooperation between his company and Turkmenistan.

Meeting with Kenji Sanada, Executive Director of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.:
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met on Friday with Kenji Sanada, Executive Director of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., to discuss ongoing and future cooperation.
During the meeting, the sides emphasized the significant contribution of Japanese companies to realizing Turkmenistan’s economic potential. The president noted that Turkmenistan has maintained a long-standing and effective partnership with Kawasaki, which has participated in the implementation of several major projects in the country.
President Berdimuhamedov underlined the availability of opportunities to expand cooperation into new areas and reaffirmed that Turkmenistan remains open to strengthening business ties with Kawasaki Heavy Industries.
