A literary and musical evening dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the prominent Turkmen poet Magtymguly Pyragy was held at V.N. Tatishev Astrakhan State University. Attaché of the Consulate of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, Enegul Kakajanova, head of the international department of the International University of Humanities and Development, Arslan Charyev, Fauzia Kadyrova, head of the Astrakhan regional public organization for the preservation and development of Turkmen culture called "Turkmenistan", and teachers and students of ASU participated in the event.
Creative performances representing Russian and Turkmen cultures were included in the program of the literary and musical evening. In particular, artistic readings of Magtymguly Pyragy's poems in Turkmen and Russian languages, Turkmen songs and dances were performed, and mukams were played on Turkmen national musical instruments. Special performances prepared by ASU students were presented to the audience.
