The European Championship of Akhalteke horses and equestrian exhibition was held in Babolna, Hungary. "Hungary Today" informs about it.
The event was dedicated to this unique breed, which is considered the progenitor of many popular horse breeds today. In his speech at the opening, Hungarian Minister of Agriculture Istvan Nad emphasized the historical importance of the Akhalteke horses.
He said that the Government is committed to the development of equestrian sports, including supporting horse breeders and training young professionals.
President of the Hungarian Akhalteke Equestrian Association Mr. Jozef Gyula Nyek said that 59 horses and riders from 11 countries are participating in the championship.
The judges evaluated the horses' gaits, free jumping, and their grooming.
