In Turkmenistan, it is expected that the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokaev, will pay an official visit to Ashgabat on October 10-11 of this year, and he will participate in the international forum to be held on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy. As reported in the "Vatan" news program, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who was on a business trip to Astana on August 9, said this during a meeting with the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Jomart Tokayev.

During the meeting, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to the leader of the Turkmen state for his efforts to strengthen multilateral intergovernmental relations, and noted that there are great opportunities for the development of mutually advantageous cooperation in trade-economic, transport-logistics, energy, industry and other promising fields.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan, and took the opportunity to thank President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev for his personal contribution to the development of interstate dialogue.

The President of Turkmenistan turned to the issue of trade and economic relations, which is one of the important directions of Turkmen-Kazakh cooperation, and emphasized the importance of the transport system. In this regard, it is proposed to strengthen joint activities along the Trans-Caspian transport corridor by using the capacity of Turkmenbashi, Aktau and Kuryk seaports. Along with this, it is proposed to make full use of the opportunities of the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway and to activate the China-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran transport corridor.

As mentioned, another priority area of ​​economic cooperation is related to energy. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the gas sector were discussed during the meeting of the National Leader of the Turkmen people with the Kazakh leader. In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized once again that Turkmenistan is ready for negotiations on this issue. It was noted that there are great opportunities for cooperation in the field of electric energy.

Also, at the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that the relevant work is being done on the provision of a plot of land for the construction of a monument to the Kazakh poet and philosopher Abay Kunanbaev within the territory of Ashgabat.

During the meeting, other important issues of bilateral cooperation were also discussed.
