"Sounds of Dutar" joins international project "Poems of Victory", representing Turkmenistan

The organizing committee of the international festival "Sounds of Dutar" named after Nury Halmamedov has become part of the significant international media project "Poems of Victory", which united CIS countries under the patronage of the Library Assembly of Eurasia (BAE). This initiative, proposed by Yuri Nosov, Director General of the Presidential Library, is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and aims to immortalize poetic works celebrating heroism and reflecting the tragedy of the Great Patriotic War.

The long-standing partner of the "Sounds of Dutar" festival, the Russian State Library, traditionally provides its halls for festival conferences, particularly the department of musical editions and sound recordings in Pashkov House, one of Moscow's most beautiful buildings.

Turkmenistan's Contribution to the Project

Having received the honorable opportunity to represent Turkmenistan in this project, the organizing committee of the "Sounds of Dutar" festival turned to the works of poet Hemra Shirov, father of Ayna Shirova, a composer and jury member of the composition competition for Magtymguly's poems, which took place within the framework of the festival in 2024. Hemra Shirov's poems, imbued with the pain of losses and an unwavering faith in victory, became a powerful expression of the Turkmen people's contribution to the common cause of Victory.
