Meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan

On June 28, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers through the digital network. Several issues related to state life were considered in it.

The Turkmen leader addressed the agenda of the meeting and spoke to the Chairperson of the Mejlis, D. Gulmanova. He gave information about the work being done to bring the legislative base of the country in line with the requirements of the time. In particular, at present, preparation of the draft of the new statement of the Civil Code of Turkmenistan, Budget, Social Protection of the Population, Sanitary Codes, physical education and sports, state scientific and technical policy, scientific institutions, fight against doping in sports, breeding work, as well as Work is underway to modernize several other laws. They talked about the work being done together with the central election committee to prepare for the elections to be held on July 7 of this year in place of the outgoing deputies of the parliament. As mentioned, work in this field is carried out in accordance with international norms and national legislation.

It was also reported on measures taken to strengthen parliamentary relations and cooperation with international organizations. A letter of credence was received from the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to Turkmenistan. Along with this, meetings were held with the delegation led by the Speaker of the Upper House of the Parliament of the Republic of Zimbabwe and the Special Representative of the European Union for Human Rights. The leader of the parliament also reported on the consultation "Historical and cultural values ​​that unite peoples" held through the digital network dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Pyragy, the great thinker and poet of the East.

The President emphasized the importance of preparing the new laws required by the times. The domestic and foreign policy of our country should be reflected in these laws. In this regard, it was noted that it is necessary to continue conducting relevant work in this area.

Vice Premier H. Geldimyradov reported on the work carried out by the bodies under his supervision in order to ensure the stable development of the national economy, positive indicators in all sectors, and the improvement of the standard of living of the population. It was also mentioned about the measures taken to prepare the draft of the State budget for the next year. In this regard, it was reported that the preliminary calculations of the financial and economic activities of the ministries and departmental administrations were conducted in order to increase wages, pensions of citizens, state allowances, student and audience fees in the coming year.

Commenting on the report, the President noted that programmatic reforms are being successfully implemented in the country, and the standard of living of the people is steadily increasing. The Turkmen leader supported the proposal to increase the salaries of employees of institutions and enterprises by 10 percent, pensions of citizens, state allowances, student and audience fees by 10 percent from January 1, 2025, and instructed to carry out relevant work in this field.

Vice Premier of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Amanov reported on the ongoing work on supplying the Turkmennebit state concern with the necessary products. It was said about the measures taken to modernize the material and equipment base of the institutions and enterprises of the oil and gas complex, to carry out geological-research works, to carry out drilling works in oil and gas wells, and to widely introduce international best practices to the industry.

Commenting on the report, Turkmen leader Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the material and equipment base of Turkmennebit State Concern is being continuously strengthened. The President emphasized the importance of further successful implementation of the tasks set before the oil and gas industry and gave several specific instructions to the Vice-Premier.

Vice Premier T. Atahalliyev reported on the work being carried out in the agricultural sector, seasonal agricultural work in the provinces.

As mentioned, appropriate measures are being taken to carry out the wheat harvest, hand over the harvested crop to grain receiving points, and make settlements with grain growers.
