Cooperation between Turkmenistan and ESCAP moves to practical implementation

Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is moving to the stage of targeted implementation in key areas, including trade, connectivity, energy transition, and digital development. This was reported by the official website of "Business Turkmenistan."

According to him, ESCAP, together with the UN Economic Commission for Europe and the UN Country Team, is interacting with the government of Turkmenistan to promote the Sustainable Development Goals. As 2030 approaches, the partnership is focused on trade, innovation, energy transition, and data development.

Sharp noted the leading role of Turkmenistan in the development of sustainable transport and regional connectivity, as well as the potential for cooperation within the framework of the ESCAP initiative on the "Green Energy Corridor" and in the field of the digital economy.

Earlier in January 2026, an ESCAP delegation led by Shombi Sharp visited Turkmenistan to participate in the SPECA 2026 Economic Forum, which was held on January 21–22 in Ashgabat.
