On February 25, 2025, an event dedicated to the proclamation of 2025 as the ‘International Year of Peace and Trust’, the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality, and the presentation of the new book by the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, ‘Magtymguly – Sage of the world’ was held at the Tajik National University.
The event, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan, was attended by the UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, Parvati Ramaswamy, representatives of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan and the Tajik Society for Friendship and Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, the leadership, faculty, and students of the Tajik National University, as well as media representatives.
As part of the event, speeches were given by the Ambassador of Turkmenistan, A. Gochmyradov, the UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, P. Ramaswamy, the First Deputy Chairman of the Union of Writers of Tajikistan, A. Mirhoja, the Chairman of the Commission on Deputy Ethics of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, F. Barotzoda, a member of the Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, M. Asrori, the Head of the Department of Diplomacy of the University, F. Salaimov, and a 5th-year student of the University, A. Ahmedova.
The Vice-Rector of the Tajik National University, B. Safarmorad, noted in his speech that holding such a significant event dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the presentation of the new book by the President of Turkmenistan, is a great honor for the university. He also expressed readiness to further expand cooperation with the Turkmen side in the field of science and education.
Ambassador A. Gochmyradov elaborated on the content of the book by the President of Turkmenistan ‘Magtymguly – Sage of the world’ emphasizing the significance of the poet's work in implementing the principles of peace and trust.
The UN Resident Coordinator in Tajikistan, P. Ramaswamy, emphasized in her speech that the proclamation of 2025 as the ‘International Year of Peace and Trust,’ initiated by Turkmenistan and supported by 86 countries, demonstrates the country's commitment to strengthening peace, trust, and international cooperation at the global level.
As part of the event, participants familiarized themselves with a special exhibition organized at the university. A special place at the exhibition was given to the books of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, and the President of Turkmenistan, some of which were donated to the university library.
On the same day, a meeting was held between the Ambassador of Turkmenistan and the Vice-Rectors of the University, B. Safarmorad and I. Gafforzoda, during which the prospects for developing cooperation in the field of science and education were discussed.
