Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a telephone conversation on Saturday with Christopher Landau, First Deputy Secretary of State of the United States. The conversation was initiated by the U.S. side, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
The two sides noted the positive and stable nature of the partnership between Turkmenistan and the United States, which includes cooperation in the political, trade-economic, humanitarian, and cultural spheres.
They exchanged views on current international and regional issues, with a particular focus on the situation in the Middle East. Special attention was given to humanitarian aspects and the potential for diplomatic efforts to help resolve the conflict.
The Turkmen side reaffirmed the country’s commitment to the peaceful settlement of international issues, emphasizing its permanent neutrality status, recognized by three United Nations General Assembly resolutions. Turkmenistan expressed its readiness to support efforts aimed at resolving the current situation in the Middle East using a broad range of diplomatic tools and mechanisms.
The conversation was held in a constructive and trust-based atmosphere.
