In Moscow, at the anniversary summit of the Eurasian Economic Union, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev offered EAEU partners to join the transport corridor between Central Asia and the Gulf countries.
“To access the Gulf markets, we offer member states of the economic union, Kazakhstan is already doing this, to join the Ashgabat agreement on the creation of an international transport corridor,” said the President of Kazakhstan.
According to Tokayev, the basic condition for establishing long-term integration remains the presence of a stable system of transport connectivity with external markets.
The agreement on the creation of an international transport and transit corridor between Iran, Oman, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan (Ashgabat Agreement) was signed in 2011 in Ashgabat. Later, Kazakhstan, Qatar and India joined the agreement.
