A training center in Ashgabat has been granted the status of a Regional Training Center of the World Customs Organization (WCO). The relevant memorandum of understanding between Turkmenistan and the WCO was signed during the 145th–146th sessions of the WCO Council, held from June 26 to 28, 2025, according to the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
The document formalizes cooperation in professional training and the expansion of international educational collaboration in the field of customs.
The center will operate in accordance with WCO standards and programs, providing training, retraining, and professional development for specialists from Turkmenistan’s State Customs Service as well as customs officers from other countries in the region.

The designation opens up opportunities for joint seminars, training sessions, and research projects involving international experts. This step reinforces Turkmenistan’s role as an active member of the global customs community and contributes to the development of a professional training system at the regional level.
