President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting on Sunday with Haruo Nagamatsu, Chairman of the Board of the Japanese corporation Toyo Engineering, who arrived in Ashgabat on a working visit, according to Turkmenistan's state news agency.
Nagamatsu expressed admiration for the architectural beauty of the white-marble capital and warmly congratulated the President on the second anniversary of the founding of the city of Arkadag, built under the “smart city” concept.
President Berdimuhamedov thanked him for the kind words and noted that the visit would include talks on the current state of cooperation between Toyo Engineering and Turkmenistan. He expressed confidence that the visit would give fresh momentum to bilateral relations.
Both sides emphasized the significant role of Japanese companies in harnessing the economic potential of the two countries. Turkmenistan and Toyo Engineering have established productive cooperation, particularly in the oil, gas, and chemical industries. President Berdimuhamedov highlighted opportunities to expand this partnership and affirmed Turkmenistan’s openness to considering specific proposals from the Japanese corporation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the President expressed confidence in the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and wished Haruo Nagamatsu success in his endeavors.
