Construction of two Turkmen dry cargo ships is planned in July

JSC “Shipbuilding and ship repair plant “Balkan” and the South Korean company Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co. They plan to begin construction of two bulk carriers in July this year. According to official Turkmen media, relevant contracts have been concluded between the companies for the design and joint construction of two dry cargo ships with a carrying capacity of 6 thousand 100 tons. Currently, preparations are underway to begin construction of new vessels.

As noted in the message, more than 300 workers will work on the construction of the ships. Recently, Korean specialists conducted two-month specialized training courses in construction planning, technology implementation, design of ship parts, welding, electrical work and quality control. At the end of January 2024, the managers of the Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Plant Joint Stock Company held a meeting with representatives of Koryo Shipbuilding Industry Technology Co., Ltd.
