With the participation of a delegation from Turkmenistan, a museum of Turkmen culture was opened at the school named after Magtymguly Fragi in the village of Funtovo, Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation. The Turkmen delegation donated valuable exhibits – paintings and jewelry – to the museum. The school museum displays national Turkmen costumes, jewelry, and portraits of Magtymguly Fragi.
The school in the village of Funtovo, Privolzhsky district, Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation, where most of the local Turkmens live, was built by representatives of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan and opened in 2018. The school teaches the Turkmen language and operates a Center for Turkmen Culture.
Speaking to the audience, the head of the department of the Turkmen Institute of World Languages, candidate of philological sciences Saparmyrat Atayevich Khydyrov spoke in detail about the values of the national heritage of the Turkmen people and the work of the classical poet Magtymguly Fragi.
