Shavkat Mirziyoyev invited the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the People's Council to visit Uzbekistan

As we previously reported, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who made a working visit to the capital of Kazakhstan on August 9 to participate in the sixth consultative meeting of the Heads of the Central Asian States, also met with the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

During the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will be able to combine their efforts to create the necessary conditions for connecting the transport systems of Central Asia, China, Europe, the Near and Middle East, and paid special attention to the transport system. In this regard, it was noted the importance of using the opportunities of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan transport route, which has access to the Persian Gulf and the Caspian Sea, and the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port.

The leader of the Eastern Turkmen state drew attention to the Ashgabat Agreement, which envisages the creation of the Central Asia-Near Transport Corridor. Effective cooperation was also established in the energy sector.

The interlocutors noted with satisfaction the successful development of bilateral relations in the cultural-humanitarian sphere. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov reminded that the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan were held in Uzbekistan in October 2023 and expressed the readiness of the Turkmen side to hold the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan this year.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that at the beginning of this year he signed the Resolution on the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet's birth in Uzbekistan.

Using the opportunity, the Uzbek leader invited the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to come to Uzbekistan on an official visit at any convenient time.
