The Embassy of Turkmenistan in Belgium held a presentation ceremony of a music video dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy. The video for the rap song about Turkmenistan, performed by Belgian artist Tony, was filmed in famous places in Brussels and at the embassy.
The event was attended by representatives of European media, EU institutions, analytical centers and diplomatic missions. Turkmen Ambassador Sapar Palavanov emphasized the importance of Magtymguly Pyragy's works for Turkmen culture and world literature and cited one of his poems as an example. The ambassador also announced Tony's plan to create a song based on Magtymguly's poems with the help of the diplomatic mission.
Daria Soysal, an independent researcher on the ecology and history of Central Asia, also spoke at the event and drew attention to Magtymguly Pyragy's creativity, which is significant not only for the Turkmen people, but also for the world. He noted that Magtymguly's works are devoted to moral education, friendship, peace and self-improvement. After the presentation of the video, the guests were served the dishes of Turkmen cuisine. Here, Tony wore the Turkmen national costume and performed the song live.
The lyrics of the song, written by Maral Rakhimova, diplomat of the embassy, praise the cultural heritage of Turkmenistan, natural beauty and the noble spirit of the Turkmen people. It mentions the historical cities included in the UNESCO list, the famous Turkmen carpets, the Karakum Desert and the Caspian Sea.
