The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said in his speech at the "SCO+" meeting of delegation heads of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Astana summit that Turkmenistan considers the SCO an important and promising partner.      "Turkmenistan has been participating in high-level meetings of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization as an honored guest several times. This has become a noble tradition, and we accept such a degree as a sign of respect for Turkmenistan, a high level of trust in our country and an indicator of openness, striving to develop close cooperation relations with the organization," said the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan.

     As the National Leader of the Turkmen people noted, cooperation with the SCO meets the national interests of Turkmenistan, is able to positively influence the course and direction of regional processes, and contribute to the stabilization of the international situation.

     "Our country has deep historical ties, geographical proximity, common values ​​and worldview with the peoples and states that are members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and work with it. Today, mutual benefits in the economy, trade, investments, and technologies are added to it," the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan said in his speech.
