The President of Turkmenistan received the Federal Minister of Industry and Production of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On June 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Rana Tanvir Hussain, Federal Minister of Industry and Production of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Expressing gratitude for taking the time to accept the guest, he conveyed to the Turkmen leader the warmest greetings of the high-ranking leaders of his country - President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, and best wishes to all the Turkmen people. It was confirmed that Pakistan is committed to traditional friendly relations with Turkmenistan, which implements a creative policy based on the legal status of permanent neutrality and is an important condition for the development of positive regional and international cooperation.

Expressing gratitude for the kind words, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the President and Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Expressing confidence that this visit of the representative of the fraternal country will give a new impetus to the further development of long-term bilateral relations, the Turkmen leader stressed that Turkmenistan pays great attention to strengthening the fruitful relations with Pakistan. Those relations are based on the principles of mutual understanding and respect, and consider the interests of our peoples.

During the meeting, it was noted that the Turkmen-Pakistani political-diplomatic relations are being continuously promoted within the framework of international organizations. This is clearly evidenced by the mutual support given to effective initiatives promoted in the international space. Trade and economic cooperation is also actively developed. Industry, energy and transport systems were among the priority areas of cooperation. There are great opportunities for collaboration in these networks. In this regard, it was emphasized that our countries actively participate in large energy and communication projects. Among those projects, in particular, the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan electricity pipeline, and the construction of fiber-optic communication systems. The implementation of these large projects will contribute to the stable socio-economic development of the entire region, its successful integration into the system of global economic relations, and the strengthening of peace and stability. Along with this, the cultural-humanitarian system is one of the important directions of Turkmen-Pakistani relations. Effective relations have been established in this system as well.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Federal Minister of Industry and Production of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Rana Tanvir Hussain, expressed their confidence that interstate cooperation will be developed further and enriched with new meaning, based on friendly relations and goodwill of the parties.
