Turkmenistan’s Maritime Administration Successfully Verifies Compliance with ISO 9001:2015 Standard

The State Maritime Navigation Inspection Administration of Turkmenistan, operating under the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan, has successfully completed its certification phase in accordance with the high requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 international standard, implementing the most modern quality management methods into its operations.

Between May 4 and May 8, 2026, a comprehensive surveillance audit was conducted on the institution's operations by "CERT International," a reputable and independent international auditing company. The experts' inspections covered the core of the Maritime Administration's activities—namely, the organization of the maritime navigation management system and the execution of technical oversight at a high organizational level.

During the course of these inspections, which were meticulously carried out over five days, the auditors analyzed in detail the institution's internal regulations, its regulatory legal framework, the compliance of document management with the requirements, and, most importantly, the professional competence and preparedness level of the personnel. In doing so, special attention was paid to risk management mechanisms, the technical survey (osvidetelstvovanie) of vessels, and strict adherence to maritime safety regulations within the national zone of the Caspian Sea belonging to our country.

As a result of the evaluation procedures carried out, the audit team found no major deviations or deficiencies from international standards. Consequently, it was confirmed that the Administration’s management and operational processes fully comply with national and international requirements in the maritime sector, as well as the ISO 9001:2015 standard, and an official decision was made to award the institution the certificate of compliance.

This achievement, attained in May 2026, once again clearly demonstrates that the State Maritime Navigation Inspection Administration of Turkmenistan is fully capable of consistently and reliably ensuring transport safety within the country's maritime zones, as well as aligning its operations in this field with modern global standards.
