Turkmenistan's Interior Ministry warns of increased fire hazard in pastures in hot weather

The State Fire Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan has issued a warning about the increased risk of fires in pastures in hot weather. In this regard, the department reminded citizens and organizations of the need to take a number of precautions when in open areas.

The message published in the newspaper "Neutral Turkmenistan" states the following:

"Before lighting a fire in a pasture, you should prepare a hole half a meter deep so that the fire does not spread to the surrounding area. The fire can be lit when the weather is not windy. The area (15 meters) should be cleared of weeds. After using the fire, it should be completely extinguished - doused with water or covered with sand. Before leaving the place, you must make sure that sparks do not fly out of the fire pit.

Drivers should be aware that sparks from exhaust gases can cause a fire when driving through fields. Therefore, vehicles moving through the fields must be equipped with reliable spark extinguishers and first aid equipment.

Within a radius of 500 meters around watering places for livestock, two fences at least 3.5 meters wide should be built. In places of pastures, fields, vineyards of peasant associations located along railways, row crop strips at least 10 meters wide should be made. Fire barriers 4 meters wide should be created in areas along railways and highways.

The territories of temporary field shelters of geological exploration expeditions should be cleared of weeds (up to 30 meters) and a fire strip at least 4 meters wide should be built.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan emphasizes that all institutions, enterprises and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, are obliged to strictly observe fire safety rules when carrying out any work on pastures, in the desert, mountains and forests.
