President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a series of bilateral meetings with foreign leaders on Wednesday, who arrived in the Avaza National Tourist Zone to participate in the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs), according to official Turkmen media.
Among the high-level guests were President of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, President of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe Carlos Manuel Vila Nova, Vice President of Malawi Michael Bizwick Usi, and Vice President of The Gambia Muhammad Jallow.
During the meeting with the Armenian President, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to developing mutually beneficial cooperation. They discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic ties, as well as deepening humanitarian partnerships, including in the fields of science, culture, and education.
Talks with the President of São Tomé and Príncipe focused on opportunities for cooperation within international organizations and unlocking the economic potential of both countries. The Turkmen side expressed readiness to support concrete initiatives aimed at establishing partnerships.
In the meeting with the Vice President of Malawi, discussions centered on sustainable development, transportation, and logistics. The guest conveyed warm greetings from President Lazarus Chakwera and praised the high level of organization of the conference. In response, President Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s willingness to enhance political, diplomatic, and economic ties with African nations.
The dialogue with the Vice President of The Gambia covered prospects for expanding cooperation in energy, agriculture, healthcare, and education. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of humanitarian engagement and cultural exchange.
All meetings were held in an atmosphere of mutual respect. The parties expressed their readiness to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the United Nations and other international platforms and confirmed their commitment to further deepening intergovernmental dialogue.
