In the year proclaimed in Turkmenistan under the motto “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses” the Denizchi Cup futsal tournament among teams from Balkan Velayat was held in Turkmenbashi from 20 to 29 July 2026.

The competition was jointly organised by the Balkan Velayat Football Federation, Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Denizchi Futsal Club. The tournament was dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of Denizchi Futsal Club and took place during the break in the Turkmenistan National Futsal League.

The principal objectives of the tournament were to support the development of futsal, promote a healthy lifestyle, encourage young people to participate regularly in sport, and strengthen friendly and professional relations among the employees of enterprises, institutions and companies operating in Balkan Velayat.

Teams representing public institutions, major enterprises, sports organisations and private companies from Turkmenbashi and other parts of Balkan Velayat competed for the Denizchi Cup. The participating teams were:

1. Denizchi — the Turkmenbashi International Seaport team competing in the Turkmenistan National Futsal League;
2. Gorag Gullugy — a team composed of employees of Turkmenbashi International Seaport;
3. Gadamly — the team of Balkan Shipbuilding and Ship Repair Yard;
4. TNGZIT — the team of the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries;
5. Serhetchi — the team representing the relevant Turkmenbashi unit of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan;
6. Yashlyk — the youth team of the sports system of Balkan Velayat;
7. Altyn Asyr — the team representing communications enterprises in Turkmenbashi;
8. Petronas — the team of PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd;
9. At-Abray — the team of the At-Abray transport and logistics company.

Throughout the tournament, the teams demonstrated strong sporting preparation, discipline, determination and team spirit. The matches gave the players an opportunity to demonstrate their skills and provided spectators with a series of competitive and entertaining futsal encounters. The decisive final was held on 29 July between Denizchi and At-Abray. Following a closely contested match, Denizchi secured a 2–1 victory. As a result, Denizchi became the tournament champion and winner of the Denizchi Cup, while At-Abray finished in second place. The third-place match was contested between TNGZIT and Serhetchi. TNGZIT won the match and secured third place in the tournament.

Following the conclusion of the competition, an official awards ceremony was held. The winning and runner-up teams received trophies, certificates of honour and commemorative gifts. Players who demonstrated outstanding sporting performance during the tournament were also recognised.

The victory was particularly significant for Denizchi, as it coincided with the club’s 15th anniversary. Over the years, the team has represented Turkmenistan’s maritime transport sector in the National Futsal League and has contributed to the development of sport, the promotion of healthy lifestyles and the strengthening of team spirit.

Representatives of the Balkan Velayat Football Federation, Turkmenbashi International Seaport and Denizchi Futsal Club expressed their appreciation to all participating teams, referees, supporters and partners who contributed to the successful organisation of the competition.

The Denizchi Cup once again demonstrated that sport is not only a form of competition, but also an effective means of strengthening friendship, unity and cooperation among the enterprises and organisations of the region.
