Georgian PM Invites Turkmen President to Tbilisi During UN Conference

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has extended an official invitation to Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to visit Tbilisi, according to official Georgian media reports.

The two leaders held talks Tuesday on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) in Avaza, Turkmenistan. Discussions focused on the current state of Turkmen-Georgian cooperation, with both sides emphasizing the potential to expand trade and economic ties.

They highlighted positive developments in energy cooperation and explored prospects for utilizing the Southern Gas Corridor to deliver Turkmen gas to Europe.

The leaders also discussed regional peace and stability, reaffirming their commitment to promoting security in the region.

Earlier the same day, Berdimuhamedov also met with Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

The forum drew heads of state and government, senior officials from more than 100 countries, nearly 50 international organizations, and representatives from more than 20 major companies. Over 160 journalists from around 40 countries gathered in Avaza to cover the high-profile event.
