Kazakhstan invites Central Asian countries to jointly implement projects in the energy sector. "MIR 24" reports that Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy Almasadam Satkaliev said this at a meeting of the leaders of regional energy institutions.
Almasadam Satkaliev pointed to the fluctuations of oil and gas prices as the main problems of the industry. Taking into account the increase in the population of the republics, it is necessary to increase the energy capacity, introduce "smart" electricity supply and storage systems to the industry in terms of reliable supply of energy resources. The first steps in establishing energy cooperatives have already been taken.
"Together with Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, we are starting to implement a comprehensive project on the development and supply of green electricity. We are actively discussing the construction of the large Kambaratinsk SEB-1 hydroelectric power station together with the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Uzbekistan. "The project to build the Rogun SEB in Tajikistan is being discussed," the Kazakh energy minister said.
During the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Kazakhstan B. Rejebov spoke about the possibilities of Ashgabat's cooperation in the field of energy and the rich potential of the country.
Energy ministers signed the Final Document in Astana. This means that the Central Asian countries will now face the region's energy challenges together. The main goal of such efforts is to ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy sources.
