President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to Balkan province, where he took part in the foundation-laying ceremonies for a urea production complex with an annual capacity of 1.155 million tons in Turkmenbashi district, as well as a section of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz highway connecting Turkmenbashi, Garabogazgol Bay, and the Kazakhstan border. The head of state also participated in the opening of a water treatment facility with a capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day in Esenguly district and a new highway bridge across Garabogazgol Bay.
The total length of the bridge, developed according to the Presidential Decree of June 16, 2022, regarding the construction of the Garabogazgol Bay highway bridge, is 354 meters. Its width, with two spans and two traffic lanes, is 21 meters, while the total length of the approach roads is 2,000 meters.
Constructed as part of the modernization of the country’s domestic road transport system, the bridge connects the cities of Turkmenbashi and Garabogazgol Bay with Kazakhstan, creating international transport corridors. The highway also forms part of a reliable road system in Central Asia, linking Iran, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan.
