Dragon Oil Produces 468 Million Barrels of Oil in Turkmenistan

Over 25 years of cooperation with Turkmenistan, Dragon Oil has produced 468 million barrels of oil, said ENOC and Dragon Oil Chairman Sayeed Mohammed Al Tayer during his speech at the Turkmenistan Oil and Gas International Conference (OGT-2025) on Wednesday in Ashgabat.

Over the quarter-century of operations in Turkmenistan, Dragon Oil has invested more than $11 billion in the country’s projects, Al Tayer added.

Dragon Oil has conducted oil and gas cooperation with Turkmenistan under a production sharing agreement since 2000. The company’s main activity is the extraction of hydrocarbon resources in the Caspian Sea, particularly in the Cheleken contract area.

A key milestone in the development of Dragon Oil’s cooperation with Turkmenistan was the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the state concern Türkmennebit in 2024. The document confirmed both parties’ intention to jointly develop new oil fields, including Block 19 in Turkmenistan’s Caspian Sea sector.

The 30th Turkmenistan Oil and Gas International Conference and Exhibition (OGT-2025) will continue through October 24.
