Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan plan to strengthen sustainable trade and logistics chains through the creation of a joint network of wholesale distribution centers, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov announced in an interview with “Uzbekistan-24” during the trilateral meeting Turkmenistan–Azerbaijan–Uzbekistan, held on August 22 in Avaza.
According to the minister, Uzbekistan’s economic cooperation with Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has significantly intensified in recent years, with trade turnover more than doubling. Approximately 40% of this trade consists of industrial goods, indicating a shift toward a deeper level of economic collaboration.
During the meeting, the three sides agreed on measures to enhance trade relations and industrial cooperation. The trade ministries of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan will jointly develop a comprehensive action plan aimed at building resilient trade and logistics chains.
The plan includes the establishment of a network of wholesale distribution centers, simplified market access for goods across the three countries, harmonization of phytosanitary and quarantine standards, implementation of digital product labeling, and the promotion of e-commerce and direct interregional business ties.
The three countries also agreed to establish joint ventures as part of broader efforts to deepen economic integration.
