A trilateral meeting in the format “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” was held on Friday in the Avaza National Tourist Zone with the participation of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The parties discussed the development of multilateral cooperation in trade, economic, transport, energy and humanitarian spheres. During the meeting, the importance of using the transit potential of the three countries to form a sustainable transcontinental route connecting China with South Asia, the Middle East and Europe was highlighted, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.
Plans were considered for the development of the Middle Corridor, including the Zangezur Corridor, expansion of trade turnover and industrial cooperation, establishment of wholesale distribution centers, introduction of digital product labeling and joint electronic platforms.
In the humanitarian field, a trilateral program of tourism and cultural exchanges was proposed. To implement the agreements reached, it was suggested to prepare a “roadmap” and organize regular meetings of ministers on key areas of cooperation.
