2026: Caspian States Summit to Be Held in Iran

The Caspian States Summit will take place in Iran, in August 2026, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani announced at the “Caspian Sea – Sea of Peace and Friendship” conference in Turkmenbashi. The news was reported on Tuesday by TASS.

The diplomat noted that the event will coincide with International Caspian Sea Day and the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the Tehran Convention. Presidents of all Caspian littoral states are expected to attend the summit in Tehran.

Rouzbehani also announced that Iran will host the first international meeting of governors from Caspian coastal provinces in 2025. The goal is to create a platform for dialogue, experience-sharing, and the strengthening of regional diplomacy and economic cooperation through joint projects in trade, industry, agriculture, environmental protection, and transportation.

He said that invitations and the program for the meeting will be sent to all Caspian countries in the near future.

The “Caspian Sea – Sea of Peace and Friendship” conference was held in Turkmenbashi on the Caspian coast to mark International Caspian Sea Day, observed annually on August 12.
