Turkmenistan, the US Plan Political Consultations for 2025

Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister, Rashid Meredov, met with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia, John Mark Pommersheim, in Avaza on August 7. During the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in holding political consultations between Turkmenistan and the United States before the end of the current year, according to the Turkmen Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two sides discussed key areas of bilateral cooperation, including political and diplomatic engagement, trade and economic partnership, and cultural and humanitarian ties. Other issues of mutual interest were also reviewed.

The US delegation was thanked for its participation in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3).

Bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the United States, established in 1992, have developed through cooperation in the UN, OSCE, and other international organizations. The two countries collaborate in the fields of education, healthcare, and agriculture.
