Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Meets with Shavkat Mirziyoyev in Avaza

On Monday, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev , in the city of Turkmenbashi. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

President Mirziyoyev congratulated the Turkmen side on the successful organization of the international forum and emphasized the relevance of the topics discussed for the sustainable development of the region.

During the talks, the two sides discussed prospects for strengthening Uzbek-Turkmen relations based on good-neighborliness and strategic partnership. They reviewed the implementation of previously reached agreements, including those from the April 2025 meeting in Samarkand.

Positive momentum in bilateral cooperation was noted, built on mutual trust and shared interests. Since the beginning of the year, trade turnover between the two countries has reached $600 million. Efforts continue to expand cooperation in industry, energy, transport, agriculture, and water management.
