Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Ahmet Gurbanov, met on Monday in Avaza with Deputy Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Liu Hua. The talks, held on the sidelines of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), focused on ongoing cooperation, with particular attention to healthcare projects and leveraging the IAEA’s technical capabilities in this area.
According to Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a key topic of discussion was the coordination of the draft Country Programme Framework between Turkmenistan and the IAEA for 2025–2029. Both parties expressed the intention to sign the document in the near future.
Liu Hua commended the organization of the international conference in Avaza and thanked the Turkmen side for its hospitality.
