Turkmenistan's President Oversees UN Conference Setup in Avaza

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov conducted a working visit to Balkan Province on July 30 to review ongoing preparations for the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), set to take place this August in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, according to official Turkmen media.

During the visit, the Head of State inspected infrastructure development and site improvements at the designated venue for the international forum. Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov provided a detailed briefing to the President on the status of core preparatory work, reporting that essential arrangements have been completed to ensure a comfortable and well-organized environment for all participants.

The Avaza National Tourist Zone has been fully equipped with modern service and utility systems, with designated areas for rest, recreation, and hospitality developed in accordance with international standards.

The LLDC3 agenda includes political, economic, diplomatic, and cultural events, reflecting Turkmenistan’s holistic approach to fostering constructive international dialogue and cooperation. President Berdimuhamedov also visited the venue designated for the cultural segment of the conference, emphasizing the importance of deepening international humanitarian and cultural ties.

Following the inspection, the President returned to Ashgabat. The visit forms part of broader national efforts to ensure the successful hosting of LLDC3 and reflects Turkmenistan’s strong commitment to strengthening international partnerships and regional integration.

The LLDC3 Conference in Avaza is expected to bring together global leaders, development partners, and stakeholders to address the unique challenges and unlock the development potential of landlocked developing countries. The event further reinforces Turkmenistan’s growing role as a proactive contributor to regional cohesion and global development dialogue.
