Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan emphasized the importance of expanding business activity, including participation of entrepreneurs in exhibitions, forums, and other joint platforms held in both countries. This topic was addressed during the 8th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, held on Monday in Baku, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
The meeting was attended by delegations from both countries, led by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikail Jabbarov.
During the session the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of bilateral cooperation in areas such as trade, energy, transport, communications, agriculture, the chemical and food industries, environmental protection, and cultural-humanitarian exchange. Special attention was given to expanding collaboration in the energy and oil and gas sectors.
Following the meeting a Protocol was signed outlining steps to further strengthen partnership in trade, economic cooperation, and other key areas. The sides agreed to hold the next, 9th session of the Commission in Ashgabat.
