Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Georgia, Dovletmyrat Seyitmammedov, met Wednesday with Giorgi Tevzadze, Director of the Shota Rustaveli National Theater, to discuss prospects for cultural cooperation between the two countries, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Georgia.

The two sides emphasized the importance of theater as one of the oldest forms of art and an integral part of the cultural and historical identity of nations. They noted its vital role in preserving and promoting cultural heritage and fostering mutual understanding.

Ambassador Seyitmammedov briefed Tevzadze on cultural events planned in connection with the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality. In this context, the sides agreed to organize joint cultural initiatives.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties expressed confidence that the establishment of direct ties and creative collaboration between theaters in Turkmenistan and Georgia would strengthen cultural exchange and bring the two nations closer together.

As part of the visit, Tevzadze gave the ambassador a tour of the Rustaveli Theater, introducing him to its history, current projects and artistic initiatives.
