World Environment Day was established by the UN General Assembly in 1972. Since then, it has been celebrated in many countries around the world as a day that embodies the goals of the global community to work more harmoniously in solving the global problems of the day. This day is an opportunity to think about the responsibility of each person in terms of ecology, the need to treat nature with care, and actively participate in efforts to preserve its beauty and wealth for the benefit of future generations. During the Revival of the new age of a stable state, celebrating the World Environment Day as a holiday is even more important within the framework of our foreign policy, which focuses the efforts of the international community on the solution of the important tasks of environmental protection in the Central Asian region and the implementation of environmental programs and projects in the Central Asian region and throughout the world. .
In the General Assembly, the multifaceted activities carried out in the country in the field of ensuring ecological well-being and improving the legislation in this field were described. As mentioned, in accordance with our long-standing national traditions of caring for nature, programs are being implemented in the country to protect the environment, to use natural resources in a systematic way, and to develop a "green" economy. It was emphasized that active measures were taken to implement UNESCO's programs aimed at preserving and promoting natural beauties of special ecological importance. An example of this is the opening of UNESCO departments in higher educational institutions of the country. Turkmenistan is developing effective relations with prestigious international organizations within the framework of the multilateral presentation "Turanian Deserts of the Aram Belt" prepared as a result of international cooperation. The inclusion of the ecosystem in the UNESCO World Heritage List is also a clear testimony.
Deputy Director-General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), regional representative for Europe and Central Asia, Viorel Gusu, who participated in the meeting via digital network, said that this forum serves as a good platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing. In his speech, he highlighted the important role of agriculture and food security in combating climate change. In this regard, it was noted that it is possible to preserve biological diversity and ensure food security for all by increasing sustainability, adapting to climate change and reducing the emission of greenhouse gases into the environment.
