President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Turkmenistan, Rana Abu Hijleh, on Thursday, according to Turkmenistan's state news agency.
During the meeting, the ambassador presented her credentials to the head of state. Ambassador Abu Hijleh expressed her gratitude to President Berdimuhamedov for the warm reception, stating it was a great honor to represent Palestine in Turkmenistan, a country that has earned significant respect on the international stage thanks to its peaceful foreign policy. She also conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to both the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
President Berdimuhamedov congratulated the diplomat on her appointment and wished her success in her mission, expressing confidence that she would contribute to the further development of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The two sides also exchanged views on the current state and prospects for Turkmen-Palestinian cooperation, particularly in trade and economic sectors. They highlighted significant potential for expanding partnerships in areas such as the export of Turkmen petrochemical products, textiles, agriculture, food processing, and various foodstuffs.
Ambassador Abu Hijleh affirmed her commitment to advancing Turkmen-Palestinian relations and pledged to make every effort to further strengthen bilateral ties.
