Astana Hosts Second CA-China Leaders Summit in June

The leaders of Central Asian countries and Chinese President Xi Jinping will gather in the Kazakh capital on June 17 for the second Central Asia–China summit, as reported by Kazakhstan’s presidential press service’s Telegram channel.

Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit Kazakhstan on June 16–17 at the invitation of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The two leaders will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss ways to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and China.

The regional summit on June 17 will bring together the heads of state from all five Central Asian nations — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan — along with the Chinese leader to discuss regional cooperation and development.

The first Central Asia-China Summit was held on May 18–19, 2023, in Xi’an, Shaanxi Province, northwest China.
