Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay an official visit to Turkmenistan at the end of June, according to Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
“Active preparations are currently underway for the official visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation to Turkmenistan. We expect Sergey Viktorovich Lavrov to visit Ashgabat at the end of June,” Volynkin said during a reception at the Russian Embassy marking Russia Day.
According to the ambassador, the ongoing Russia–Turkmenistan dialogue remains a key factor in the development of the full range of bilateral relations. “Together, we will continue moving toward new horizons,” he added.
Russia and Turkmenistan established diplomatic relations in 1992. Since then, the two countries have actively developed cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields. Regular high-level contacts have strengthened their bilateral partnership.
