Turkmenistan held a forum titled “Environmental Wellbeing - an important condition for development” at its national pavilion at EXPO 2025 in Osaka to mark World Environment Day, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan.
The event was attended by Atadurdy Bayramov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan; representatives of Turkmenistan’s Ministry of Environmental Protection; members of the EXPO 2025 Organizing Committee; and visitors to the exhibition.

Speakers at the forum highlighted Turkmenistan’s commitment to introducing eco-friendly technologies and emphasized that addressing climate change remains a top priority on the government’s agenda.
According to the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov announced the country’s accession to the Global Methane Pledge during the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), held in Dubai on December 1, 2023. Turkmenistan continues to develop the necessary legal framework to promote the adoption of low-carbon technologies.
