President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed Turkmenistan’s readiness to consider proposals from Mongolian partners and support businesses in establishing direct contacts, as well as in creating favorable legal conditions for mutual trade. Turkmen President made the remarks on Monday in Ulaanbaatar during talks with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh, according to Turkmenistan’s official media.
The negotiations were held in an expanded format with the participation of official delegations from both countries. The agenda included a broad range of topics, covering political, trade and economic, cultural, humanitarian, and transportation cooperation.
President Berdimuhamedov emphasized Turkmenistan’s interest in intensifying trade and economic ties with Mongolia. He noted the existing potential for giving bilateral relations a dynamic and multifaceted character, highlighting transportation as a key area. In this context, he referred to Turkmenistan’s initiative to revive the Great Silk Road and expressed willingness to cooperate on the implementation of transnational logistics projects.
Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh expressed support for Turkmenistan’s proposals and reaffirmed Mongolia’s commitment to strengthening cooperation in key areas. He highlighted the importance of agreements reached on establishing joint committees on transport, agriculture, and light industry, as well as expanding partnerships in science and culture.
At the conclusion of the meeting, a number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements were signed in the presence of the two countries’ leaders, including a Joint Statement by the Heads of State.
