A cultural event marking Turkmen Carpet Day was held at the Magtymguly Library in Kyiv, gathering representatives from the Embassy of Turkmenistan, creative youth, and the Turkmen diaspora, according to the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Ukraine.
The centerpiece of the program was the exhibition “The Silver Skullcap,” showcasing works by young artists from the “Mystetstvoznavtsi” group. Their drawings depicted scenes from Turkmen folk tales, landscapes, and national motifs.
Embassy representatives spoke about the role of the Turkmen carpet in national culture, its recognition by UNESCO, and the significance of the holiday as a symbol of national pride. They also emphasized the importance of cultural exchange and friendship between nations.
Guests were shown a video about Turkmen carpets and a recording of the fairy tale "Two Mergens" in Ukrainian. The program also included a tour of the decorative and applied arts exhibition and the Magtymguly museum room.
At the end of the event, young participants received commemorative gifts from the Embassy of Turkmenistan.
