The President of Turkmenistan received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Euronews media company

On February 27, 2025, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Euronews media company Pedro Vargas David.

The guest expressed gratitude to the President for the time devoted to the meeting and noted Turkmenistan’s achievements at the national and international levels. Pedro Vargas David emphasized that the white marble Ashgabat made a special impression on him.

At the meeting it was noted that active interaction has been established with the media and international news agencies of countries around the world, which contributes to increasing the authority of Turkmenistan. In this regard, the positive experience of cooperation with the Euronews media company, which is a leading media company in Europe, was noted.

The head of state emphasized the advisability of expanding cooperation with the aim of popularizing the cultural and historical heritage of Turkmenistan and developing tourism.

In this regard, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the great tourism potential of Turkmenistan. The country is famous in the world for its rich national heritage and historical monuments, being one of the oldest centers of culture.

It is noted that Turkmenistan is rich not only in historical monuments, but also in unique natural landscapes. In terms of tourism development, the Avaza National Tourist Zone, the Kopetdag foothills and the Karakum Desert have great potential.

In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan highlighted the videos about Turkmenistan that are broadcast in special programs of the Euronews media company.

«As is known, at the initiative of Turkmenistan, a special Resolution of the UN General Assembly declared 2025 the «International Year of Peace and Trust». Also this year we will widely celebrate the 30th anniversary of the country’s permanent neutrality» the head of state emphasized.

He invited Pedro Vargas David to the International Forum for Peace and Trust, which will be held in Ashgabat on December 12, 2025, expressing confidence that his participation will contribute to the successful holding of this event.

In addition, issues on the international agenda, as well as current and prospective cooperation projects, were discussed at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed Turkmenistan’s readiness to further develop mutually beneficial partnership with Euronews media company and wished Pedro Vargas David great success in his responsible work.
