Turkmenpochta Joins International Digital System of Universal Postal Service

Turkmenistan’s national postal service, Turkmenpochta, has tested its integration into the Universal Postal Union’s international digital system. Once fully integrated, customers will be able to track shipments in real time and calculate shipping costs automatically, generate postal labels, use various payment options, and access a multilingual interface, as reported by the newspaper Turkmenistan on Wendesday.

To modernize its operations, Turkmenpochta plans to implement digital systems for processing shipments and integrate into the paid International Postal System (IPS) and Customs Declaration System (CDS) to enhance international postal operations and cooperation.

The postal company has temporarily connected to UPU-developed platforms IPS.post and CDS.post. Successful testing has paved the way for full integration. The IPS will provide details on express delivery, insured shipments, estimated delivery times, and customs regulations.

Over the past 32 years, Turkmenistan has facilitated postal shipments to more than 190 countries, gaining valuable experience. In 1996, Turkmenpost joined the Express Mail Service (EMS) to expedite deliveries, ensuring shipments reach their destinations within three to four days.
