Daewoo Engineering & Construction (Daewoo E&C) has been selected by Turkmenhimiya State Concern as the preferred bidder for the construction of a mineral fertilizer plant, according to a report by Business Korea on Monday.

The new plant, to be built in the city of Türkmenabat, will have an annual production capacity of 350,000 tons of phosphate fertilizers and 100,000 tons of ammonium sulfate.

Daewoo E&C, a leading South Korean construction and engineering firm known for its successful international projects, opened a branch in Ashgabat in October 2023.

The company has previously expressed interest in taking on construction projects in Turkmenistan.
