The international exhibition and conference "Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan - 2024" (OGT 2024) will be held in Ashgabat on October 23-25. This international forum will contribute to strengthening the regional dialogue on achieving further sustainable development of the energy sector and expanding opportunities to attract foreign direct investment to the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, as well as review the latest trends in the global energy market. Hyundai Engineering Company of the Republic of Korea will act as one of the silver partners of this forum. It should be noted that since 2009, this company has been actively involved in the development of the Galkynysh gas field, which has huge reserves of "blue fuel" in Turkmenistan.
With the joint efforts of Turkmengas State Concern, the Republic of Korea and representatives of Chinese oil and gas companies, the preliminary stage of development of this huge gas field was successfully completed in 2013. As part of the project, a gas desulfurization plant was built by Hyundai Engineering.
The Korean company, which has wide technical capabilities, is not limited to only one area in cooperation with Turkmenistan. The oil refining sector is also one of the main directions of the company's operations in Turkmenistan. In particular, in cooperation with LG International Corporation, Hyundai Engineering launched a number of new technological units at the Turkmenbashi oil refinery complex (TNGIZT).
Another indicator of the cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Hyundai Engineering company is the construction of a large gas chemical complex for the production of polyethylene and polypropylene in Gyyanly town on the coast of the Caspian Sea. The total cost of this project is more than 3.4 billion US dollars, and along with Hyundai Engineering Company, Turkmengas State Concern, LG International Corporation of the Republic of Korea and Japan's TOYO Engineering Corporation participated in its implementation. The plant complies with international environmental standards and was certified as one of the ten environmentally friendly projects in Europe and Eurasia in 2014 by the British organization TXF.
To date, more than 150 delegates representing 30 countries have confirmed their participation in the OGT 2024 international conference. During the event, meetings with managers of Turkmenistan's oil and gas complex will provide an opportunity to discuss new investment projects and exchange ideas. In addition, the participation of global oil and gas companies will contribute to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the participants of the forum.
